  • Assistant Professor of Health Sciences Alina Engelman examining the relationships of food insecurity and chronic diseases to the Deaf community in the U.S. Engelman’s research found that of her sample of 630 Deaf adults ages 18-89 years old, approximately 22 percent reported food insecurity and 11 percent reported "very low" food insecurity.
  • Professor of Biological Sciences Michael Hedrick has been appointed to the  council, a governing body for the approximately 10,000 member organization. Hedrick will join two other offers in serving a three-year term starting April 7.
  • Lecturer Nolan Higdon co-published arguing that publications including the “New York Times,” the “Washington Post,” and “CNN” “continue to censor progressive positions and distort the facts for audiences.”
