Project IMPACT

Project IMPACT is a federally funded TRIO student support program that promotes the academic success of students with disabilities. We are committed to encourage undergraduate scholars to persist in college through graduation by offering retention enhancing services such as one-on-one coaching/tutoring, academic and wellness counseling, and skill-building workshops. By fostering a closely knit learning community, Project IMPACT has supported students through collegiate accomplishments such as Honor Roll, Dean’s list, and of course graduation. Being a participant in Project IMPACT means being an Academic Achiever!

TRiO

TriO LogoOur nation has asserted a commitment to providing educational opportunity for all Americans regardless of race, ethnic background or economic circumstance. In support of this commitment, Congress established a series of programs to help low-income Americans enter college, graduate and move on to participate more fully in America’s economic and social life. These programs are funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and are referred to as the TRIO Programs. While student financial aid programs help students overcome financial barriers to higher education, TRIO programs help students overcome class, social and cultural barriers to higher education.

  • "Project Impact was the primary reason that won me over to attend CSU East Bay. As a student who toured and got accepted into multiple campuses, including three different UC's, this department's program is in a league of it's own in terms of it's supports for students like myself." - Eric O.
  • "This program is the most supportive program I have ever known. There's no way to fail with the support that's offered and given. The kindness, compassion and gentleness of the staff are indescribable. No matter what, I was able to get help, support, instruction and a good ear. " - Trinity B.
  • "Project IMPACT helped me meet my goal of graduation. Their support and counseling helped keep me grounded and gave me direction. Through them I found my calling - helping kids with special needs and giving back to people with no voice. " - Anthony A.
  • "Project IMPACT has given me the tools and confidence to succeed. Without Project IMPACT supporting me I would have dropped out. The staff always go above and beyond to help me reach my goals." - Anonymous
  • "I want to thank everyone at Project Impact for all the support and priceless study skills I have gained through the program. I would never have been as successful or had the confidence to go full time and stay with my major if it wasn't for you guys. You have changed my life! Thank you" - Caroline K.
  • "They help you with just about everything you need. [They have] helped me set my schedule for the past few quarters and it's really helped me. When the WST came up, they had workshops. When I had questions about classes and alternative media, PI helped. Just studying in the quiet lab really helps me. It helps me stay focused." - Anonymous
  • "Project IMPACT (aka Supportive Impact) is one of the best support programs at CSUEB. They went way beyond my expectations, especially during my first quarter, keeping me in a calm disposition amidst the overwhelming load of course studies. " - Mary Ann R.
  • "Project IMPACT is special insofar that it understands the special needs and circumstances of it's student body and how to give feedback constructively to someone who might need things explained repeatedly or broken down in more detail. " - Anonymous
