What I Appreciate 缅北禁地 My Culture: Coming from a Vietnamese background, I appreciate the food of my culture because it brings people together from all ethnicities; even to eat after hours when all other places are closed. I also appreciate how each Vietnamese dish carries its own origin story. Most importantly, Vietnamese food holds cherished childhood memories of cooking with my mother.

I love the diversity of this campus, which gives me hope. And I've never been so thankful for being a Black woman.

Something I Appreciate 缅北禁地 My Culture: I appreciate my Cambodian culture for its values in centering family, strive for knowledge, and emphasis in showing kindness to one another. I take pride that my Cambodian community is very supportive, resilient and that we are determined in preserving the traditions that bound us together. From the flavorful, home-cooked family-style meals and scrumptious street foods to the fine arts of graceful, Apsara Dances to the celebrations of our ancestors and harvest season, there is so much to learn, share, and love about my Cambodian culture.
