Creating a New Student Organization

If you can’t find something you are looking for then here is where you start! We recommend you check out our Eligible Adopt-An-Org List on the Active Student Organizations page before you create a brand new organization. We may already have an org that you are interested in that you can reactivate! 

You will need five (5) students who are currently enrolled at CSUEB with a 2.0+ GPA to be officers, a CSUEB  faculty or staff member who has agreed to serve as your organization’s On-Campus Advisor, and a to become a Recognized Student Organization (RSO).

 

Step 1: Log into BaySync

Log into and navigate to Forms and find the from named [RSO] Create a New Student Organization - Intent to Organize

Step 2: Complete and submit the form

In the following pages you will need to provide:

  • Your Contact Information
  • Name of the Proposed Organization
  • Description and Purpose of the Organization
  • Organization’s Constitution
    • All student orgs are required to have a constitution which defines the organization’s structure and operating procedures. The constitution must be submitted. 
    • You can use for your organization. This Constitution Template is up to date to comply with CSU/CSUEB policies. This sample is provided only as a guide; it is the responsibility of the organization members to determine how the organization is to be structured and operated.
  • Information of Each Officer (must have at least 5 members to be a recognized student organization) 
    • Officers must be matriculated/currently registered students at CSUEB, have at least a 2.0 GPA, and no academic alerts or probations of any kind.
  • CSUEB faculty, staff, or auxiliary staff who will be your On-Campus Advisor
    • The  On-Campus Advisor should know the RSO’s leadership and be informed about all RSO events, news, etc. It is the RSO’s responsibility to connect with their On-Campus Advisor regularly\

Step 3: Meet with Student Leadership and Involvement Center staff

Schedule a meeting with a Student Leadership and Involvement Center (SLIC) staff to discuss the goals of the student organization, resources/support, and review any questions you may have about the process, training, and/or policies.

Step 4: Officer Training & On Campus Advisor

Once approved by SLIC, your officers will need to complete Officer Training and have your On-Campus Advisor complete their form. Officer Training dates can be found on the Renewing Your Student Organization page or you will need to schedule a time with SLIC staff. 

  • Officer Training is required for the President and Treasurer.
  • All student orgs are required to have an On-Campus Advisor who is affiliated with 缅北禁地 to provide the RSO with the necessary connection to the University (EO 1068). Off-Campus Advisors are optional.

REMINDER
