Actual room and board costs will vary, depending on dorm type and meal plan. (Apartment Single and Pioneer 5 meal plan used for above sample) Many students living off-campus have roommates, which decreases their housing costs.
The cost of living can vary significantly depending on the location.

A suite unit includes three to four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchenette with a dining table, a living room with couches/armchairs, a coffee table, and an end table. Each bedroom is equipped with a twin XL bed, dresser, desk, and desk chair per occupant.

On-Campus Family Housing Coming Soon!
University Housing is excited to announce the inaugural Housing units available by this upcoming Fall 2025. Select units are available and will be on a first-come, first-serve. Please submit your interest via the form below, and more information will be sent to you by early May 2025.
CSUEB On-Campus Family Housing is a dedicated space to support students with dependent needs, as defined as minors or eldercare. In the upcoming Academic Year 2025-2026 term, select units will be available for those that are interested and meet the criteria/requirements. License Agreement period will match standard CSUEB University Housing License Agreement.
Family Housing Units are limited to the following:
- Must have dependent needs, as defined by support of minor or elder care (documentation required to show needs can be tax record or birth certificate).
- Maximum of 1 CSUEB enrolled student per unit
- Maximum of 2 adults per unit
- Maximum of 2 minors per unit
